The Big Bang

In 2008, the national Real Estate Market took a turn for the worse. As a result of these changes, Real Estate Investor Anthony Alongi needed another vehicle to generate income to eventually buy more Real Estate. He formed 813 DISTRIBUTORS, LLC as a vending business for an energy product in a town called called Wesley Chapel – a suburb of Tampa, Florida.

Based on concepts learned from reading many business books, he embraced the strategy of building multiple assets that are capable of producing income on a steady basis.

Using profits from the sale of an investment house in Lakeland, Florida, he set up the company and purchased several vending machines, along with the energy product to fill them with and set out to stake his claim.

Placing vending machines in strategic locations proved to be a challenging but valuable exercise in salesmanship and negotiation. Anthony quickly learned the concept of bringing value to the table.

He created a website that advertised the energy product, along with an advertisement for each business that had a vending machine where people could purchase the product. Just about every business owner he approached wanted their business advertised on that website. In a month’s time, he placed all 30 vending machines within businesses in and around the Tampa Bay area simply by going door-to-door every day with a laptop to demonstrate the website.

In the years after its inception, 813 Distributors experimented in many different avenues of business. The quest to offer better products and services is a winding road of discovery and enrichment with invaluable lessons at every interval. Skill sets necessary for success at every juncture were picked up and mastered. From web design to phone sales, internet marketing and blogging, to lead-generation and cold-calling – 813 Distributors offered a wide array of products and services through the years before settling back into Real Estate Investing – which was the original passion that drove this company into existence.

In late 2010, 813 Distributors connected with a Real Estate company in Tampa, Florida who was still struggling with the aftermath of the last housing bubble. They had a fantastic approach to ride out the economic storm. They offered investment properties to clients at wholesale prices, with optional private financing, optional renovation services, and a full property management package for the duration of their investment – and all services were to be performed under “one roof”. The one thing they did not have was a strong sales department.

Utilizing our Sales Outsourcing division brought them all the fruits that emerged from the trials and experience of 813 Distributors over the past four years. They ended up with a perpetual lead-generating website (appraised value in late 2013 was over $16,000), coupled with a powerful and professional sales-force to follow-up with each and every lead on a timely basis. Their client base grew by 1200% during the first year, generating millions of dollars in sales revenue year after year.

Great success can be a blessing to many, but can also become a curse if not managed appropriately. Without the necessary systems and proper leadership in place, any measure of success will only be short-lived, at best.

After having a good four-year run, due to some significant philosophical differences, the two companies decided to part ways.

With the founding members of 813 Distributors having relocated their primary residence to Lancaster, Pennsylvania in mid-2014, the company itself still remains in Tampa, Florida. The vast amount of time spent on the ground in Tampa, immersed in the Investment Real Estate business helped cement some substantial resources for continuing the very same investment strategies and concepts well into the foreseeable future.

813 Distributors carries a full toolbox of recommended individuals, products, and services that when used properly, can assist any would-be investor of rental properties in Tampa to achieve the levels of success they ultimately desire. A “one-size-fits-all” approach is not a practical strategy to sustain a diverse pool of clients for any real measure of time. Through a subsidiary, he is working with local attorneys to assist those in need who may be going through a difficult time due to bankruptcy, divorce, sudden loss of a loved one, elder care, or any other legal situation that may encumber their life with an unwanted piece of Real Estate.

The goal here is not to be a parasite and take advantage of people who are going through a difficult situation in their lives, but rather, to handle every situation with efficiency, honesty, integrity, compassion, respect, and professionalism to provide the best possible outcome from the least favorable situation for everyone involved.

The spectacular results that were achieved in Tampa between 2010 and 2014 can very easily be reproduced for just about any business with any marketable product as long as it has the right management systems and strong leadership in place to handle a dramatic and steady increase in clientele.
